Flamboyant Trees

Few month ago I entered a photo contest with the Daily Herald about "Flamboyant trees", in a failed attempt to win the first prize : a Roland Richardson's painting.
About 500 pictures participated into the contest, and if none of mine were selected to the first place, at least one was in the tenth finalist.
Amazingly, if I had to choose one of my pictures to be in the top ten of the contest it wouldn't had been the one the jury selected... but "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"...
So today, and since I didn't blogged for a while on this blog, but much more lately on my other one, I wanted to share some of the picture I sent. It's only a selection because I sent few more but be ready to see a lot of red and orange. I organised them in series, to which I gave a name:

(I remind you that if they were all posted properly you can click on the picture to enlarge them and click the back button to come back on the blog)

MADAME ESTATE

MARY'S FANCY

MOUNTAIN IN FIRE

The ones below is the one which was selected in the top tenth finalist

And my favorite serie here below:

The photos are beautiful, makes me wish I was therre to see them. I have a beautiful one in front of my villa in Ocean View Terrace (#14). At least it was beautiful when I was there last year. I am missing St. Maarten very much and hope to be back soon.

Philippe, the one that came in as a finalist was breathtaking. Lately I haven't been in the mood to comment on just about anything but that photo made such an impression on me that I felt you needed to know. Beautiful work.
