So let meet the family, or at least the Coconut Retriever part of it
First of all I would like to introduce Caramel !... Caramel is a real pure breed Coconut Retriever. He is seven years old now. Time is passing too fast!... He is the smartest dog in the whole world ! I know, I know... every dog owner think his dog is the smartest guy in the world. But everybody is wrong : my Boy is the one !..

We found Caramel when he was just few weeks old, on the side on the main Lowland road in Baie Rouge in August 2000. He gave us the hardest time he could so we would not catch him, as he didn't wanted being taken away from his Dad...

Yes his Dad ! In fact, he was raised with his sister and and brother by his Mom and Dad. We knew his Mom and Dad since few years already as we could see them always walking together, side by side on the side of the road, like a true couple, in search of food and water. But now that they had Babies, Mom and Dad were taking turn to go to find food. We couldn't approach Mom or Dad as they were adult, wild and not trusting humans, but we could do something for their puppies. We found home for his sister and brother, and we adopted him... He is the dog of my life !!!
We also have Picolla !!! Picolla is a Lady... She is also a Coconut Retriever, but a white long haired one. She is proud and sweet. We found her in a terrible health condition on the Cliff of Cupecoye. She had a terrible case of minge, had sun burns on her nose, her pads were almost raw, and because she was so hungry she was chewing gravel... We assumed she had been abandonned as we realised later she was house broken... Before we took her home we wanted to try to treat her for the minge...When we went to a vet, which I won't tell the name, to request some medecine for her, the vet asked us for witch dog it was for. We told him and described her, and as he was passing her three to four time a day on the side of the road on the way to (or back ) his house in the lowlands, he said : "Yeark !!! that's for this uggly mingy little dog all burned next to the ocean club?..." We never went back to him except once month later to show him how a uggly little mingy and burned dog on the side of the road became a Princess in her Castle. She is my girl !...Then, we had Happy... Happy was just Happy!!! He was also known as "the Bakery dog" as we
found him across the street from our Bakery on Billy Folley Road. He was also in bad health at that time. We always laught saying that he was kind of "handicaped"... In fact he was just a little bit less smart than others, and... very slow. He had dual personality though : he could be the sweetest dog in the world, but he could become "psycho dog" within seconds... After many years of happyness living with the familly, for a still unexplained and not understood reason, he decided to run away from us during the usual afternoon walk on Coralita Beach and to not come back. It happened almost at the exact same time that my Mom passed away that day, on April 24th 2007... After many days of researches, we never found any trace of him and have absolutly no idea of what happened to him. We miss him deeply...

I am very happy to see that you also adopted a dog that no one wanted. I adopted my mutt from Puerto Rico, where she was starved and abused. She is now my princess.
Also, I am very sorry to hear that your mother passed away in April of this year. My partner and I had dinner at your restaurant in May, on our first trip to St. Martin, and we are looking forward to returning.
You seem like a very nice person. Take care- Denise
