She can't and couldn't take it anymore... too many month of "silence", protocole, "mission", meetings with the most powerful people on earth and boredom...Mrs Sarkozy is too much of an independant Lady to stay longer in the shadow of her egocentric hyper energetic husband.
She was starting to become tired to be locked in her golden cage called the Elysee Palace, with only on her schedule book, some officials diners and meeting...
No more fun at all since she had given up her personal career to do not interfere with the State's Affairs.
But as I said, it was too much lately and she couldn't take it anymore...
So, the French Presidencial couple flew Thursday for New York, officially on a private and personal trip, which will be assorted for Mr Sarkozy, of course, by some work session within the United Nations and Ban Ki-moon... But on the meantime Carla is taking Nicolas on a jogging around Central Park and Fifth Avenue,
and midtown, in Soho, for some shopping action...
and as we know in France, Mr "all ego" and "all powerful" cannot resist to the charm of his Lady...
But they didn't came for jogging and shopping in fact.. They came because Carla had decided to sing again, and she was asked to performed tonight at the Radio City Hall, along side with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Gaynor, the Soweto Gospel Choir, Queen Latifah, Cindy Lauper and dozens of other famous artists and stars, for the ceremonial Gala celebrating the 91th birthday of their friend Nelson Mandela. She will perform with former Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart.
It will be Carla Sarkozy first public performance since she became First Lady of France and she said she would stop performing publicly after marrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but agreed to perform tonight only because the charitable groups organizing the gala do work to support the fight against AIDS.
Carla Sarkozy's brother died of the illness, and she is an ambassador for international funds fighting AIDS.

More than 18 months ago, Stewart and Carla Sarkozy began writing songs that have yet to be released. Dave Stewart wrote the melodies, while she wrote the French lyrics.
The duo will perform her biggest hit "Quelqu'un m'a dit" ("Someone told me") and a version of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind." Dave Stewart always said the former top model's turn rock star voice was akin to a female version of Dylan's.

The first Lady will be singing tonight,
the first Lady will be happy again,
Carla will smile, back on stage...
Mr Mandela is too frail to travel and will spend his birthday with family and friends at home in the village of Qunu, in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.
The French president will attend the event, and the pair will return to Paris immediately after the concert.
