Again ... and again!!!...

Well as some of my readers notified me, we made it twice consecutively to Jeff Berger's news letter, as I am named again in one of the topics of his last one...
In fact he posted the link to a picture that I took from the construction site in Cupecoy, and that I posted in a TTOL's thread replying to a question regarding the evolution of this site...(Section III- Post 11)
Everything is good, I guess, to be used as an "info"...

The problem with this link is that .... : It is a broken link !!!... LOL.

The matter of fact is that, once the TTOL threads are gone or not replied anymore, I am used to delete the pictures I post in them from my photobucket album to keep the maximum space available. Ouch!... Doesn't sound very "professional" again!!! Remember those newsletters are emailed to "hundred fifteen thousands (+) of readers". The "journalist" should have doubled checked before...
But the fact we are suddenly written about twice in these newsletters made me wondering... What is going on? Why this sudden "popularity" and "free" advertising? Is it the beginning of a new "love story"?...
I wonder to know, when I will announce here or on TTOL that I am going "private" (if it is the choice I make for my future), if I will be honored with the same "coverage". I doubt, sincerely, as it would be a "positive" information, and "positive" information are apparently not free and not so good to report.
Well I won't annoy you anymore with that (except if there are better updates...), it is just that I found it weird....

Hi Philippe! I have a GREAT idea!!!! Since he linked something to your site, change that link image to show the letter that they sent you regarding not advertising your restaurant!!!!! By the time he realizes what has happeneded it would be too late....

Now wouldn't THAT be funny. Everyone seeing the threatening e-mail he sent you.....

Of course, the devil's horns are coming out the top of my head but I guess that's what Halloween does to me.... LMAO

Regards,
Vicki

Incredible !... Well, Philippe, some people are persistent and others are just "plain dumb". He is both!!!...
Or maybe, he has no clue and no ideas about your previous blog, which shows that he is not a regular but just an opportunist. Vicki's idea is a great one, but I think his "hundred thousands" of his newsletter's readers already have the link to your blog as he posted it himself...
We had a good laught again,
Thanks,
Stan and Hellen

We have signed up almost five thousand paying members, a number of whom have renewed for many years into the future...we must be doing something right. If you look up "Tabba Khady" in the archives of my newsletter, you will find several mentions of it --- all of them positive. Philippe knows I had an old gripe with him personally, which no longer matters (to me anyway), but that doesn't alter the fact that I like his restaurant and have repeatedly recommended it. I recommend a lot of restaurants and bars...dozens of them in a "Restaurant of the Week" feature that ran in my newsletter for nearly a year. Most of those restaurants I have no business association with -- and many never heard of me, since I don't wave any stupid "Do you know who I am?" flag when my wife and I first try a place. If we like it, after the evening is over and I have paid like everyone else, then I ask for and compliment the owner. Do I do websites? Yes...in fact Al Wathey from SXM pushed me into starting to do them eight years ago. People ask, and I do them very effectively; it's part of my business. It has no bearing on the extent of any recommendations. For many years I've strongly recommended Pizza Pasta and many other places and have no business relationship with them at all... As for the photo, Philippe and I and many others agree that Richard London wrecked a beautiful beach so I had no hesitation publishing a link to the photo he publicly posted. People read the newsletters and then delete them... it was useful info. I'm not starting a debate here, just adding some reality....

BTW I would have commented earlier...but I've been in California visiting my daughter. The fire in Santiago Canyon, in Irvine, was contained just six blocks from her home. Makes you realize that the most important things in life are friends and family...not politics. I wish Philippe well. If he opens another place I will visit it and hopefully help him succeed with it. He certainly has an excellent track record. (Not a pitch...no interest in doing any business....)

""If you look up "Tabba Khady" in the archives of my newsletter, you will find several mentions of it --- all of them positive""...

All those positive "several mentions" were BEFORE August 18th 2005... After that "nada"...

This prove my point Jeff :

""Important Additional Information Re: The Imminent Destruction of Cupecoy Beach
Sent August 25th 2005
... Thanks to Philippe of tabba khady Restaurant, who joins in the united effort to stop the construction of a seawall in the middle of the western part of Cupecoy Beach, destroying it. He forward this additional information: ...""

It was one week after the begining of our disagreement(August 25th...), and the quote about Tabba Khady wasn't about the restaurant but the fight to preserve Cupecoy...

Another one :

""St. Martin / St. Maarten Weekly News, Monday, November 21, 2005
Sent November 21st 2005
... A complimentary bottle of wine, Sommelier's Choice, from Vinissimo in Marigot or Anguilla, dinner for two at David Foini's La Gondola Restaurant in the Atlantis Casino complex at Cupecoy Beach (http://www.sxm-restaurants.com/lowlands/gondola/index.html), dinner for two including the first round of drinks from the fabulous new tabba khady “World Cuisine” restaurant at Oyster Pond, a $100 gift certificate good toward any purchase at Zhaveri Jewelers (www.zhaveri.com), a $200 gift certificate good toward any purchase at DK Gems...""

This one dated from Nov. 21st 2005, is only about a list of gifts from donator, which were part of it after contribuing to the first "Magic Million" way before our difference...

And the last one ( From Oct. 16th 2006) until the two more recent ones :

""St. Maarten & St. Martin Weekly News, Monday, October 16, 2006
Sent October 16th 2006
... Bill and Philippe, who currently head the tabba khady restaurant in Oyster Pond, formerly managed a little bakery on the left side of Billy Folly road as you drive toward Pelican. Billy Folly provides entry to Pelican Resort, La Vista resort, pelican key, and Flamingo resort from Simpson Bay. That little bakery was in an old Creole building which has just been destroyed by bulldozers. ...""

This one was a information coverage about the little cottage we owned in the past and which was being leveled down by the new owner... Absolutly nothing to do with Tabba Khady restaurant itself.

So actually, it is right, you stuck to your words and did ignore Tabba Khady restaurant after our "flop in business together" [and after bragging about us before as prove also your newsletter archives : ""tabba khady Restaurant (new site being created) ...""], as I did about you also, until you decided to "raise the curtain" again on Tabba Khady, which was in fact giving me the opportunity to raise mine.
