Saturday's BBQ on the beach

Yesterday was Saturday and even it wasn't my day off (today is...) we decided to go to BBQ on the beach. I know, I know !!!... Everybody BBQ on the beach on Sunday normally... That's the reason why we do it on Saturday, we are not "normal" people and we prefer when the beach is quiet.
So here we go, put the BBQ in the truck along side with the cooler, take Caramel and Picolla with us (Happy stayed home because he needs to rest...), and "en route" to Grande Caye (Great Key Beach), because it is one of our favorite.

Grande Caye is relatively remote, totally undeveloped, definitely unpopulated and very quiet, and part of the Natural Reserve. However yesterday we were not the only one who had the idea, as some families had set up a campsite for the week end. Actually I found it very neat !... there were about 8 tents, and behind the trees they set up a large canopy with tables and chairs. Even though they were a lot of people with children, they were very quiet and didn't disturbed at all the tranquility of this pristine beach.

On our side we set up the BBQ under the shade of the beach grape trees, found some dry wood and started to grill the ribs that I had previously marinated. Of course Caramel always has to dig some hole in the sand to keep himself fresh, and as usual he always choose the best spot !... This time he almost put his little personal touch to my ribs recipe, as he almost threw sand on them ! "Get the hell out of there !!!... Don't even think about!!..." All right, he realised we were not agreeing with his choice of "best spot to dig" and just move further under the trees.

End result was that the ribs were delicious, soft and moist, exactly how I love them, with a little bit of fresh lime juice squeezed on them just before eating. Bon Appetit !!!...
