And you wonder why...

You may wonder why we have so many "road accidents" on such a small island where we have some type of roads who do not allow us high speed and who really do not have any clear danger alongside of them?
You may wonder why, sometime, traffic in St Martin is not only created by "over-development" and "mis-adaptation" of the infrastructure, but by people who don't know how to drive or who have no clue of the basic driving rules?
You may wonder how people learn how to drive in St Martin before going to Saba to obtain their driving license by just paying a fee....
Well yesterday I may have had the answer as I was stock behind this car here below for about 15 minutes as it was moving so slow and was all over the road !!! Amazing huh?.... Not only in Haiti, but in St Martin too...LOL

Is that what we call a Gypsy driving school or is that an official one?... For me it's just a regular junk car with some lettering hand painted on its trunk...

On another totally different topic, the week-end was overall quiet and enjoyable. My partner had some activities with some of its students (hikes, nature discover, etc...) and I was busy BBQing the ribs that he was offering them through our partnership on Tabba Khady (read more about it on his blog at : http://sxm-just-talk-to-the-animals.blogspot.com/ ).
Also on another topic, Saturday I finally met in person with two fellow Traveltalkonline.com (TTOL) posters/members : Barbara on the morning (at the cashier in Grand Marche!!!... After all those years on the same island we couldn't find another place to bump into each other huh?..LOL), and later on, in the evening, with "St Martin resident".

Both meeting were very enjoyable being animated by a nice chat. It was great to meet both of you and looking forward for more meetings (and chats...).

Hi Philippe
It was great to meet you too. I felt like I knew you already. Amazing how you can make friends just over the internet. It is alway good to finally meet in person though.
Remember the old Food Center ad? ..where friends meet friends...
well, we can say the same for Le Grand Marche.
